My late father Charles Haxton was the Presbyterian minister at Coraki & Woodburn from 1944 to 1950. He was from Scotland and met an Italian, I think single man, who invited him and his family to a lunch time New Years celebration at his home in New Italy.
I was 6/7 at the time and can remember the feature event was catching the greasy pig, however the whole day was one of great festivities, I think paid for by the Italian host. I drove past your Museum yesterday on my way home and thought I would inquire if you could provide me with any further information regarding these celebrations. Iam now 68 but can still remember the great time my family had at New Italy.
