In August 1882 Angelo and his brother Pasquale selected 80 acres north of Raymond Terrace NSW
at Nine Mile Creek commonly then known as Euylong. Here, Angelo engaged in timber cutting to make railway sleepers. He also grew fruit trees and grapes, making his own wine. With his brother farming nearby they formed a small Italian community.
