In 1989 Italian Government officials visited the New Italy Museum Complex and decided to present us with part of the contents and part of the structure of the Italian Pavilion building used at World Expo 88 in Brisbane. Volunteers brought the materials down in many truck loads and rebuilt the structure. In 1993, the newly built Italian Pavilion was officially opened by the Governor General of Australia, Mr Bill Hayden.
We have begun the refurbishment of the Italian Pavilion and the development of new displays. We will follow groundwork begun by Floriano Volpato and his teams of volunteers in the early 1990s, adding to and enhancing the exhibition through three major themes.

· The 20 Regions of Italy
